Also known as methyl carbonate, ethane carbonate, dimethyl carbonate, (ii) methyl carbonate, dimethyl carbonate (DMC). Colorless transparent liquid with pungent odor. The relative density is 1.073. Melting point 2 ~ 4ºC. Boiling point 90.2ºC. Refractive index 1.3697. Flash point (open cup) 21.7ºC. Viscosity 0.664mPa.s. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents.
Main uses:
1, can replace the traditional use of toxic raw materials such as phosgene, dimethyl sulfate and methyl chloride.
2, can be used for non-phosgene synthesis of polycarbonate, diphenyl carbonate, isocyanate and allyl diglycol carbonate.
3, used to synthesize a variety of carbamate pesticides, such as carbaryl, etc.; Organic synthesis intermediates, such as anisole, benzene dimethyl ether, alkyl arylamines, symmetric diaminarbazone, hydrazine methyl formate, etc.
